Small Steps Are Still Progress...

And behold, I purpose to build an house unto the LORD, my God as the Lord
spake unto David: 1 Kings 5:5
Having big dreams and being zealous to accomplish it is good. Yet obstacles often come to hinder the fulfillment of such big dreams. One of the biggest enemies of big dreams is allowing others to dismantle your faith in His will or purpose for you. But there is a much BIGGER obstacle… that will cripple many dreams… Pride: I don’t want to ask anyone for help.
God placed in my heart the desire to build a spiritual legacy, in honor of my three parents. In their own ways, they have impacted my life. They encouraged me to put the needs of those less fortunate before my selfish desires and empty ambitions.
My parents were always a blessing in our community. My dad instilled in me the beauty of self-sacrifice, while my mom blessed me with the spirit of hospitality, love for education, and creativity. Once, being a family of nine, with six siblings, we made do with what God gave us. Seven children had to share one room for a long time. We were poor, somewhat, but we lacked nothing necessary. God blessed my parents with industry, and His hand covered us in times of need.
Despite the little that we had. We learned that our little was truly much when God breathed upon it. We always gave from the little we had, and God smiled on our family, though life and people were often unkind. Despite the unkindness, I also wanted to please my third parent, God.
God has called me to be a missionary. In this capacity, I am a watchman, a lightbearer, and a gospel health evangelist. I am called to be a builder in His ministry of hope and healing to the masses. He has called me to build a center of influence to showcase the name of the Lord! For what purpose? To educate, equip, and empower homes, individuals, and small groups through medical missionary services.
He has called me to fight, yet my hope is sometimes shaky. He has called me to watch, but my eyes are sometimes dim. He has called me to build or buy, yet at this time, I have nothing in my hands! But BECAUSE God has called me… I do what a missionary always does… I go.
I put one foot in front of the other and walk by faith. Big journeys begin with small steps… and small steps are still progress! I still intend to build or buy a lifestyle center for the glory of God and His service! Will you join me?
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
Psalms 119: 133
Prayer: Father, I am but one person. I have nothing, yet you ask me to build something for you. Yet I know that your bidding is Your enabling. You have soft and willing hearts, ready to give to your cause. Please help me to trust you more. In Jesus' name, Amen.
