TODAY Is The Day

Today, I start a new phase in my life. I had accepted the Macedonian call to be a missionary teacher at an Adventist Academy in Stonecrest, Georgia. I will be ministering to the Third and Fourth grade classes. It is day one on the job; day one of service; day one of healing; day one on my journey of new growth. I tell myself: Go Forward… Today is the day!

Today is the day! Today, I allow God to order my steps and thoughts as I leave the past behind. This promises to be an interesting journey. At first, I was reluctant to step into this space because I would miss the time spent with my “little” family: my daughter and granddaughter. I didn’t realize how much I missed spending time with them until I resigned from the public school system. I was burnt out, and family time was therapy. Everything would change with this new assignment, yet today I am confident that “He who has begun a good work in me will be faithful to complete it.” Philippians 1:6

I am on a journey of healing, healing from being too long in a job with all of its anti-God red tape. A job with all of its “Nos” and “don’ts” about sharing God with children who were thirsty for a deeper knowledge and encounter with Him. Today is a new day to allow God to do as He pleases with my heart and life. Today, I say yes to His will and His plans. I let go of my preconceived notions about what Narda Pella should “look” like right now. As long as I am still true to the ministry's mission and vision, why should I hesitate? Today, I surrender my all to Jesus.

Friends, today is the day to start something new, not tomorrow. Enlist in God's latest plans for you in your mind. Forget about the "what ifs" or "this is not what I have on my agenda". Let go and let Him lead. The sooner you do it, the sooner you step into His will and your success. God is asking something of you. You have put it off for too long with all sorts of excuses. Today is the day to "step out" in faith, but let God run before you, every time. Blessings!

Prayer:

If You can use anything, Lord, You can use me. Help me to step out in faith, but never by running ahead of or too slow behind You. Please help me to be in sync with your plans for me. Today is the day, Amen.
